InStore: Glamorous and Glossy - vintage magazines

Every now and then we get our hands on these sought after vintage fashion magazines from the '80-ies. We love them, it's just too bad that they are so hard to find. Since we heard there's many of you who either collect them or use them as source of endless inspiration, we now made them available for you in our Antwerp store. The numbers are small and the prices are well below the prices we see pass by on E-bay (up to around €100,- per magazine!). Currently we have 5 super cool British VOGUES (€ 20,-) which include 2 September issues of 1983 and 1989. On top, we have 7 French GLAMOUR magazines (€ 15,-), the exact issues you can find in the pics below. And don't forget to keep your own current collection of 2010-11 issues, you might long for them 30 years from now!

OnStreet: Maisie & Cynthia

Spring is on, the sun is shining (finally!) and the most beautiful birds make their appearance on the Antwerp streets. Luckily we have staff with a sharp eye and a quick camera, to capture some of them when lit by the fragile sunlight. The gorgeous redhead is from New Castle, her name is Maisie Pearson. She likes to play the guitar and loves shopping in Antwerp with her dad. The beautiful blond girl is from Cologne, Germany, her name is Cynthia. We love this international flavor, thanks girls for traveling around and sharing your splendid style with us!

Onstreet: Zhike's globetrotter boots

These are no seven mile boots, no magical footwear known from folk tales or anything like that. These boots are made for walking and that's just what they do. And one of these days, these boots were walking straight into our store. Wearing these cute boots instantly turn you into a cosmopolitan flaneur with the world as the street. We could not help but notice that they did not have the streets of Antwerp on them and since Zhike - the girl wearing them- is not from Antwerp, she must have had some other kind of navigation that lead her the way to our store: female intuition? And let's not forget about her local friend who invited her over...

OnStreet: meet Leonoor

Amsterdam has a lovely new colleague and she was kind enough to have her picture taken. It's striking how we always end up in the store even when we are not scheduled to work... Same thing happened when I ran into Leonoor. On her day off she finally had some time to enjoy this comfy seat flipping trough the pages of these vintage Playboy magazines and looking cute at it! Just make sure there won't develop a whole cue of bored boyfriends waiting for this nice seat while their lady is satisfying her fashion hunger ;-)

InStore: Jiske's pick

Here's our awesome Jiske from Amsterdam wearing a combo she put together for us to make sure we can start our weekend with some sublime subtlety. Thank God it's Friday. One thing I need to mention: check out the super cute cup & saucer ring she is wearing. We just received these handmade miniature tea set accessories in our Amsterdam store (ring available for € 10,-). Perfect solution for those who fancy the sweetness of a high tea but don't want to deal with the accompanying calories on a daily basis ;-) Have a great weekend everybody!

Here's another Dutchie recently exploring the Antwerp shopping streets. Who said that all environmentalists have bad breath and no sense of style is sooooooo 2010! Here's Julie showing us that you can combine great style and great sense of responsibility for environmental conservation and improvement of the state of the earth. And you don't even have to wear green to think green ;-)...

OnStreet: Manjewell's Manuela

More yellow! I mean, ocher, mustards, we simply can't get enough of them. Neither is our lovely Manuela, designer of the whimsical MANJEWELL jewelry pieces we sell in our stores. She totally matches this part of our Antwerp store as you can see. Looking mighty fine in her warm sunny outfit. In these temperatures, you better create the warmth yourself ;-) It appeared that last week we had tons of Dutchies shopping in Antwerp probably due to the school holidays. So soon there will be more Dutch shoppers up on the blog. Keep you posted!

InStore: meet Linda!

This years' interns are a wave of pretty blonds. Don't feel like you can't apply for an internship when your hair is any other color, we go from blackish-brown to bright yellow, it just so happened to be an all blonds crew this time of year. Here's Linda, our Jack of all trades in the intern department. Helping us out everywhere we need a helping hand, but mainly focusing on styling. Here she picked her first InStore favorite: this yellow-black Numph scarf (€29,-) that had just arrived. If you take a good look you can even see her giggly face through the scarf in the detail picture. Welcome Linda, here's one little hint: if you want an extra good grade for your internship, take lots of great pictures for the blog ;-)
