From Wednesday the 6th until Sunday the 10th of July the Gerrit Rietveld Academy for arts and design opened its' doors to the public, looking nothing like a school building but more like one big gallery filled with inspiring works by the gifted graduates of 2011. As true fashion victims we were first and foremost drawn to the fashion design department where we saw the collections of Amos Tranque, Jana Chocholackova, Joshuah Enker, Pablo Londono Sarria and last but certainly not least the designs of Elvira 't Hart. Talking about a sketchy graduation collection ;-) I don't want to try to explain too much about it, we just really love the direct connection between sketching phase and the translation to the actual design, it's best to check out the pictures below.
